The short answer
Before any part is suspected on a Beko BWM washer, check what the door was closed on. A sleeve, a towel corner or a duvet edge caught in the door seal wicks water straight out of the drum, and it produces a puddle at the front of the machine that is indistinguishable from a torn seal until you look at the load.
What you observe
- Water at the front and fabric visible in the door seal — The load is wicking water out. Not a fault.
- Water at the front during the wash with nothing trapped — The door boot, usually torn at its lowest point.
- Foam and water at the front during the fill — The detergent drawer overflowing.
- Water under the middle after a cycle — The pump filter cap, the pump housing or the sump hose.
- NEAR MISS - the drum will not empty — That is drainage; the drainage page covers it.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Laundry trapped in the door seal — First, because it is free to check and it causes a front leak that looks exactly like a torn boot.
- Torn or perished door boot — Second, and the leading mechanical leak on any front-loader.
- Detergent drawer overflowing — Third, from over-dosing or a siphon blocked with residue.
- Pump filter cap not seated — Fourth, and very common shortly after the filter has been cleaned.
- Supply hose connection weeping — Last, and the only leak that runs with the machine switched off.
Check in this order, and why
- Look at the door seal all the way round before starting a cycle — First, and it explains a great many front leaks at no cost.
- Run the same programme with a carefully loaded drum — Second. If the floor stays dry, nothing is wrong with the machine.
- Open the boot at its lowest fold and inspect it — Third. Grit, coins and a tear are visible without tools.
- Check the filter cap is seated and its seal clean — Fourth, especially if the filter was recently opened.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close both taps before disturbing a hose. Mop before working: water and a live appliance on a hard floor is a shock risk. Replace rather than re-use a supply hose whose fitting has cracked, and never run the machine with a panel off to watch for a leak.

When to call a technician
Call when nothing is trapped, the boot and the drawer are sound, the filter cap seals and water still appears, because what remains is the sump hose, the pump housing or the tub itself. Call immediately if water is reaching the electrical area at the base of the machine.
