The short answer
A Beko BWM washer that scrapes or grinds is very often carrying something that does not belong in it. Between the inner drum and the outer tub there is a narrow gap, and small hard objects that escape a pocket end up in it - where they cannot fall back out and scrape on every rotation.
What you observe
- A scrape or metallic clatter that tracks drum speed — Something loose in the gap between the drum and the outer tub.
- The noise is the same with the drum empty — Confirms a trapped object rather than a load problem.
- Banging and walking during spin only — Uneven feet or an unbalanced load.
- Hard drumming from the very first rotation — Transit bolts still fitted after a move or a delivery.

Check in this order, and why
- Run a short spin with the drum completely empty — First. A noise that survives an empty drum is trapped debris or a bearing, never the load.
- Turn the empty drum slowly by hand and listen — Second. A scrape at one point of the rotation places a trapped object.
- Check all four feet carry weight and their lock nuts are tight — Third, and the fix for most banging complaints.
- Look behind for unremoved transit bolts — Fourth, and essential on any machine that has recently been moved.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close both taps before disturbing a hose. Never reach into a turning drum, and never run a spin with a panel off to locate a noise. Wire and metal fragments in the tub are sharp - do not sweep a hand blindly through the boot to find them.

When to call a technician
Call when an empty drum still scrapes, because reaching the outer tub means dismantling the machine and an object left in there will eventually wear through the drum. Call also when the feet are set and the machine still rumbles under spin, which points at bearings.
