The short answer
A Beko BFL washer leaks from a short list of places, and where the water first appears on the floor tells you which. Front-loaders leak at the door boot, at the detergent drawer, at the pump filter cap and at hose connections, and all four are visible without opening the machine.
What you observe
- Water at the front during the wash — The door boot, usually torn at its lowest point where debris collects.
- Foam and water at the front during the fill — The detergent drawer overflowing - a blocked siphon or too much detergent.
- Water under the middle of the machine after a cycle — The pump filter cap, the pump housing or the sump hose.
- Water at the back with the machine idle — A hose connection at the tap or at the machine inlet.
- NEAR MISS - the drum is full and nothing drains — A drainage fault, not a leak; the drainage page covers it.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Torn or perished door boot — First on a front-loader, because the boot is flexible rubber that traps grit at its lowest fold.
- Detergent drawer overflowing — Second, and usually a blocked siphon or an over-dose rather than a fault.
- Pump filter cap not seated — Third, and very common shortly after someone has cleaned the filter.
- Hose connection at the tap or the inlet — Fourth, and the only leak that can run while the machine is off.
- Sump hose or pump housing — Last, and the one that needs a panel off to confirm.
Check in this order, and why
- Establish where the water first appears: front, under, or behind — First, because it removes most of the list at no cost.
- Pull the door boot open at its lowest fold and look inside — Second. Grit, coins and a tear are all visible from outside the machine.
- Run a fill and watch the detergent drawer — Third. An overflow during fill is unmistakable once you are looking at it.
- Check the pump filter cap is fully seated and its seal is clean — Fourth, especially if the filter was recently cleaned.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close both taps before disturbing a hose. Mop first: water and a live appliance on a hard floor is a shock risk. Never run the machine with a panel removed to find a leak, and never re-use a supply hose whose fitting has cracked.

When to call a technician
Call when the boot, the drawer, the filter cap and the hose connections are all sound and water still appears, because what remains is the sump hose, the pump housing or the outer tub. Call immediately if water is reaching the electrical area at the base or if the machine trips its breaker.
