The short answer
Very little of what goes wrong with a washing machine is electronic. The list below starts with drain path and pump filter, and every entry names the page that covers it.
Symptoms, including the ones that mean something else
- It will not start — The door lock, the taps and the supply come before anything internal. See: CBMMART Washer: Will Not Start or No Power. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-wont-start
- Water is left in the drum and it will not spin — Nearly always the pump filter or the drain hose; machines refuse to spin with water present. See: CBMMART Washer: Will Not Drain. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-drainage-failure
- Water on the laundry floor — Note the stage — fill, wash or spin — because each names a different source. See: CBMMART Washer: Water Leak. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-water-leak
- Banging, grinding or walking during the spin — Load balance, levelling and transit bolts before bearings. See: CBMMART Washer: Abnormal Noise or Vibration. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-abnormal-noise
- Laundry comes out grey, marked or still dirty — Load size, detergent dose and wash temperature, in that order. See: CBMMART Washer: Does Not Clean or Dry. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-cleaning-performance
- The machine or the laundry smells — Biofilm in the door boot and the drawer, encouraged by cool washes. See: CBMMART Washer: Odor or Mold. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-smell-mold
- The door leaks or will not open — The boot and the lock — one wears, the other holds until the drum is empty. See: CBMMART Washer: Door, Latch or Seal Fault. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-door-seal
- The cycle stalls, repeats or never spins — The machine is waiting on a fill, a drain, a lock or a balanced load. See: CBMMART Washer: Cycle Will Not Run or Complete. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-cycle-fault
- A code or an unresponsive panel — Usually a child lock or a condition being reported, not a dead board. See: CBMMART Washer: Controls, Display or Error Code. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-control-fault
- Washes never get warm — Check the door glass on a hot cycle before suspecting the element. See: CBMMART Washer: Not Heating. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-heating-failure
- It trips the breaker or gives a tingle — Stop, unplug, and treat it as urgent rather than intermittent. See: CBMMART Washer: Electrical, Fire or Gas Hazard. — Slug: cbmmart-washer-electrical-safety
Causes, most likely first on this unit
- Drain path and pump filter — The filter, the hose and the pump catch everything that comes off the laundry, and they are the most common service call on any washer. The pump and the drain path are the parts that meet everything that comes off the laundry, so they are the parts that block.
- Door boot, seals and hoses — The boot is a wear part cut by underwires and grit; inlet hose washers harden and weep. A seal fault never announces itself — it just costs temperature all day — which is why it is checked early despite being unglamorous.
- Balance, levelling and suspension — Noise, walking and failed spins nearly always start with the load or the feet rather than with bearings.
What fails, and what it looks like — No component-share denominator exists for this brand and appliance, so these rows carry no percentages — they are ordered by what a technician meets in the field. — Ordered by field frequency; no share figure exists for this brand.
General guidance| Component | How it presents | Owner-reachable |
|---|---|---|
| Pump filter | Water left in the drum, no spin, rattling at the drain | Yes — behind the bottom hatch |
| Drain hose | Slow drain, siphoning, water backing up | Yes — straighten and set height |
| Inlet hoses and washers | Weeping behind the machine at the fill | Partly — hand-tight connections |
| Door boot seal | Water at the front during the wash | Partly — clean; replacement is service work |
The line between a fix and a service call
The rule of thumb: if it is reachable from the front hatch, the drawer, the door or the back of the machine, it is yours. If it needs the cabinet open, it is service work. Electrical symptoms override everything — isolate the machine first.
