The short answer
On a Blaze refrigerator, noise from a built-in outdoor cabinet is usually the surround resonating rather than the machine itself. Levelling, clearing and checking what the cabinet touches are all owner work; a bearing is not.
What you actually see
- A clicking every few minutes with no run — Click, silence, click again is the overload protector cycling and it is a fault, not a noise.
- A grinding or scraping from the freezer section — Ice touching a fan blade makes a sound that changes as the blade cuts into it.
- A high whine that never stops — A steady whine that does not change with the compressor cycle points at a fan bearing.
Causes, ranked for this refrigerator
- Something touching the back of the cabinet — Most likely — the drip tray, the drain tube and the cord all sit at the back where they can lie against the compressor or the coil and buzz with it. A clean result here does not just remove one part; it removes everything that depends on it.
- Normal refrigerant and defrost sounds — Common — ranking it here rather than dismissing it matters: a good share of noise complaints are a unit working exactly as designed in a quiet room. It is worth being sure about this one rather than half-sure, since everything after it assumes a verdict.
- Drip tray loose in its channel — Regular — the tray is a light plastic part sitting near the compressor, and once it slides out of its channel it buzzes against the frame. This is the entry most often blamed correctly and diagnosed carelessly, so take the extra minute.
What to check, in order
- First — the space behind the cabinet — Press a hand flat against the back panel while the compressor is running. If the noise stops under your hand, it is panel resonance and not a bearing.
- Second — nothing — this one is confirmed by listening — Time the sound against the compressor. Fluid noises after it stops, and a hiss or sizzle on a schedule of hours, are both normal.
Checks an owner can do safely
- Step 1. Level the cabinet — Push each front corner down in turn. Adjust the foot under any corner that moves until all four are loaded, then run the unit and listen again.

- Step 2. Turn the condenser fan by hand — With the unit unplugged, spin the fan blade. It should turn freely and evenly. Grit, drag or a wobble is the noise you are chasing.

Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, so treat a stored charge as live even when the cord is in your hand. Do not run the machine with a panel off to watch what happens, and do not defeat any switch that cuts power when a door opens.
When this becomes a service call
One condition decides it. If levelling, clearing and reseating change nothing and the sound tracks the compressor exactly, the next step needs the machine running with panels off, which is not an owner task.
