The short answer
On a Beko BFL washer the noise that matters is the one that appears during spin, because a front-loader spins fast enough to turn a small mechanical fault into a loud one. The three codes in the table share one drum and suspension design, so the list below applies to all of them - and the two commonest causes need no tools at all.
What you observe
- A roar or rumble that rises with spin speed — Drum bearings, if it rises smoothly with the spin and is absent in the wash.
- The machine bangs and walks across the floor during spin — Uneven feet, an unbalanced load, or transit bolts still fitted after a move.
- A rattle or grinding on every drum rotation — Something trapped between the drum and the outer tub - a coin, a wire, a clip.
- A buzz or whine while the machine is draining — The drain pump, often with something caught in the impeller.
- NEAR MISS - noise with water on the floor — A leak changes the priority; the water-leak page comes first.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Uneven or unlocked feet — First on any front-loader, because spin forces are large and a machine that can rock will.
- Transit bolts left in after a move — Second, and the classic cause of a violent, drumming noise on a machine that has recently been relocated.
- Foreign object between drum and outer tub — Third. Coins and underwires arrive there through the drum seals and scrape on every rotation.
- Worn drum bearings — Fourth, and the one that rises smoothly with spin speed and gets worse over months.
- Drain pump impeller obstructed — Last, and audible specifically while the machine is pumping out.
Check in this order, and why
- Note when the noise happens: wash, spin or drain — First, because those three point at three different parts of the machine.
- Check all four feet carry weight and their lock nuts are tight — Second, and free. It is the leading cause of spin noise on this family.
- Confirm the transit bolts were removed — Third, if the machine has been moved. They are at the back and they are obvious once you look.
- Turn the empty drum slowly by hand and listen — Fourth. A scrape on every rotation is a trapped object; a rumble is a bearing.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close the water taps before disturbing a hose. A washer is heavy and awkward to tilt - get help rather than levering it on a corner. Do not run a spin cycle with a panel removed to listen: the drum reaches speeds where a loose object can be thrown out.

When to call a technician
Call when the feet are set, the transit bolts are out and the drum still rumbles under spin, because bearings mean splitting the outer tub on most front-loaders and that is not an owner repair. Call sooner if the drum can be moved up and down by hand at the door opening.
