The short answer
An ecozy compact dishwasher that leaves food behind is usually being loaded for a machine it is not. There is one spray arm, one sweep and one height, so anything that shadows the arm comes out dirty no matter how good the pump is. Loading and the temperature of the water going in outrank every component on this page, and both are free to fix. What you have is a tap-fed countertop machine that couples to the kitchen faucet for the length of the cycle.
What you are seeing
- Food and grit left on plates, worst on the items nearest the arm
- A gritty white film on glasses and on the inside of the door
- Detergent still sitting undissolved in the dispenser at the end
- If water is standing in the base at the end, the drain page is the right one and the cleaning is a symptom of it — This points at a different fault; the page named above covers it.
Most likely causes on a countertop dishwasher, in order
- The tap running cold at the moment of fill — a tap-fed machine draws at the instant the valve opens, so a tap that has not been run hot delivers a cold fill even in a house with plenty of hot water — first on this form because it is invisible and free to fix
- Loading against a single spray arm — first, and by a distance: a compact cavity has one arm at one height, so a tall pan, an over-hanging plate or a bowl face-up blocks the sweep and everything behind it stays dry — this ranking would be completely different on a full-size machine with two or three arms
- Inlet water temperature — a compact machine filling from the faucet adapter or the internal fill tank is often taking cold water, and detergent that never reaches its working temperature simply does not do its job
What to check, and why in this order
- Run the tap hot until it is genuinely hot before starting the machine — A tap-fed fill takes the temperature that is in the pipe at that moment
- Run one cycle with a deliberately light, well-spaced load and nothing tall in it. If that comes out clean, the machine is fine and the answer is loading — No further diagnosis is needed
- Run the tap until it is hot before starting a fill, or fill the tank with hot water where the model allows it. This is second — It is the other change that costs nothing and it targets grease specifically
Step by step
- Empty the machine and run one cycle with six or seven well-spaced items and nothing taller than the arm can clear. — Time: one cycle.
- Run the kitchen tap until it is hot, then start the machine immediately without letting the pipe cool. — Time: a few minutes.
- Before the next fill, run the kitchen tap until the water is hot, then start the machine or fill its tank from that tap. — Time: a few minutes.
Before you start: safety
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Unplug the machine before taking a filter or a spray arm out, and let it stand after a hot cycle before reaching into the sump — wash water in a compact machine can be hot enough to scald. Never mix a dishwasher cleaner with bleach or with any other cleaning product.
When to stop and call a technician
Call for service when a light, well-spaced load with hot water, a clear arm and a clean filter still comes out dirty; when the arm will not turn under water pressure; or when the machine is obviously not filling to its normal level. Pump and diverter work is not an owner job.

What this page does not cover
This is generalized information: it covers ecozy dishwashers as a class, not one family or model. It does not carry your model's error-code table, wiring, part numbers, capacities or ambient range — those are on the rating plate and in the documentation, which are the authority wherever they disagree with this page. It leads with one form, the tap-fed countertop machine that couples to the kitchen faucet for the length of the cycle, and flags where the others diverge. Any family- or model-specific page is reached from the brand hub below, and takes precedence over this one. Pages this one hands down to: Common Ecozy Dishwasher Problems (ecozy-dishwasher-problems).
