The short answer
Ice-making on an EcoFlow portable is limited by whatever is powering it and by the room or vehicle it is in, so slow or thin ice is very often a supply and ambient story rather than a fault. Establish the power path and the ambient before you judge the appliance. If the compartment itself is not reaching freezing temperature, this is really a cooling problem and that page is the right one. - The chill compartment will not freeze a tray of water solid
- Ice in the tray is soft, or refreezes into a single slab

Most likely causes on a portable DC refrigerator, in order
- Water supply to the reservoir — first, because a low, empty or badly seated reservoir stops the cycle without any indication that the appliance is healthy
- Ambient temperature and the temperature of the water added — these appliances are rated for a room range, and warm water in a warm room stretches a cycle enormously — this is behaviour, not failure, and it is the second most common call
- The ice-full sensor blocked or misread — a beam or lever that a fallen cube, a scoop or condensation is holding — the unit stops making ice while looking perfectly healthy
- Water pump or valve — the first true component fault: water is present, is not being moved, and no cycle can complete

- Settle first whether the appliance has an ice maker at all — Read the rating plate and the documentation. Everything below depends on the answer
- Put a thermometer in the chill compartment and read it after a long settled run. — A compartment above freezing cannot make hard ice and no other check matters
- Look at the rear plate for frost. If it is glazed, defrost the cabinet fully — This is third because it is the most common reason a compartment that used to freeze has stopped

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never chip frost off a plate or a mould with anything metal — the tubing behind it is thin and a puncture ends the appliance. Use only descalers intended for food-contact appliances, and rinse thoroughly, because residue ends up in the ice.
When to stop and call a technician
Call for service when a cycle will not complete with water present and the sensors clear, when the compartment cannot be brought to freezing with a clear plate and the dial at its coldest, or when there is water inside the machine bay. Pumps, valves and sealed-system work are not owner jobs.
