The short answer
Owning an EcoFlow refrigerator means owning a portable DC-compressor fridge-freezer: a DC input as well as a mains adapter, a low-voltage cut-out protecting the battery feeding it, and hand defrosting, most often as a portable DC box that is carried, powered from a battery as often as from mains, and defrosted by hand. Two things dominate what goes wrong with it: the supply feeding it and the ambient it is asked to work in. Almost everything else on this page is downstream of those, which is why the list below is ordered the way it is rather than alphabetically.
The problems, and how to tell them apart
- Not cooling or not freezing — ecoflow-refrigerator-cooling-failure — The cabinet is above temperature while the compressor still runs, or a glaze of ice has formed on the rear inner wall. On a compact cabinet this is usually the dial, an overdue manual defrost or a lack of clearance rather than the sealed system.
- Will not start or no power — ecoflow-refrigerator-wont-start — Nothing at all on plug-in, or a repeating click and short hum. The outlet, an extension lead and the dial account for most of these; the click-hum loop is a start component and is not an owner job.
- Controls, display or error code — ecoflow-refrigerator-control-fault — A blank display, an unexplained symbol, or a dial that seems to change nothing. On this class the control is often a mechanical dial with relative numbers rather than degrees, which resolves a large share of these on its own.
- Water leak — ecoflow-refrigerator-water-leak — A puddle at the front, or standing water at the bottom of the compartment. There is no plumbed water line on this class, so it is condensate that missed the drain hole or overflowed the tray above the compressor.
- Abnormal noise or vibration — ecoflow-refrigerator-abnormal-noise — A buzz, drone or rattle that tracks the compressor, or a cabinet that slowly walks across the floor. Levelling and clearance account for most of it, because the cabinet is light enough to transmit its own vibration into the room.
- Door, latch or seal fault — ecoflow-refrigerator-door-seal — The door does not swing shut by itself, or frost builds along one edge of the frame. A compact door is light and the feet are adjustable, so levelling and a paper test come before any part.
- Ice maker fault — ecoflow-refrigerator-ice-production — No ice, soft ice, or a compartment that will not freeze a tray. The first question is whether the appliance has an ice maker at all, because many compacts have a chill compartment and a tray instead.
The problem classes in order

Which of these you can fix yourself
Owner-fixable, provided the appliance is unplugged before any panel comes off: not cooling or not freezing; controls, display or error code; water leak; abnormal noise or vibration; door, latch or seal fault; ice maker fault. Not owner-fixable past the first check, because each ends at a sealed system, a payment interface, a locked door or a live circuit: will not start or no power. The rule on this class: anything reachable with the appliance unplugged and a screwdriver is yours, anything behind a sealed panel is not. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off.
