The short answer
Read the machine before you read the manual — on a Black+Decker refrigerator, a puddle outside the cabinet is the tray, the tube or a fitting, not the drain hole inside. All three are reachable with the unit unplugged and pulled out; a fitting that will not stop weeping is a plumbing call.
What you actually see
- Water running down the inside back wall — Streaks on the rear panel are normal during a defrost and abnormal if they reach the shelves.
- Damp at one corner of the door frame — Localised damp on the frame is condensation from a seal leak, not a plumbing leak.
- Wet insulation smell without visible water — Water trapped in the base pan produces a smell before it produces a puddle.

Isolate the water at the valve and the power at the breaker before starting. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. If water has run under the cabinet or reached the outlet, leave it isolated and have the circuit checked before it is used again.
