Door, Latch or Seal Fault: the short answer
On a freezer a failed seal is more expensive than on any other appliance, because every gram of humid air that gets in becomes frost that then blocks the airflow. The cause is normally the lid hardware, the load line or the levelling rather than the gasket.

Unplug the freezer before removing any panel. Refrigerant lines are sealed and pressurised and are not owner-serviceable — never pierce, cut or heat one. Never chip ice off an evaporator with a screwdriver or a knife: the tubing is thin-walled and puncturing it ends the appliance. A full chest cabinet is extremely heavy, so empty it before moving it and never let a lid fall onto a hand or head.
