Read F2 E3 this way: the user interface or keypad or the control and the wiring between them sent the control something it cannot interpret as a keypress. A panel that will not read presses cleanly can start a cycle you did not ask for, so the control locks the keypad out rather than guess.

The observable side of this fault
- The console responds differently when the appliance is hot — Heat expands everything behind the panel, and a marginal contact behaves differently at temperature.
- The problem started after the front was cleaned — That timing is the diagnosis: liquid at the bezel edge is the usual route in.
- NEAR MISS - the display is blank and no key responds — That is a supply or board fault, not a keypad fault, and it is a different page.
What produces this code, likeliest first
- Moisture or cleaner behind the panel membrane — Ranked first because it is the cause that cures itself: liquid bridging two traces reads as a held key, and a day of drying with the power off removes it.
- The ribbon connector between the panel and the board — Second: a ribbon that has crept out of its socket with heat produces exactly this, and it is a reseat rather than a part.

Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before any panel comes off; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Everything in the procedure above stays outside the cabinet for that reason. Leave the door switch and the other interlocks exactly as they were fitted - they exist to stop the appliance running when it should not.
The point at which you call
The line is straightforward. Call when the panel still misreads after it has dried, or when keys have gone dead permanently: a membrane and a ribbon are both service parts and the panel comes off to reach them. Separately and more urgently: call at once if the machine starts a cycle nobody selected.
