The short answer
The first thing to rule out on a EuroDesign dryer is the top cause below — a lint filter that is blocked or not seating properly — and the second is a restricted duct or vent run. Poor dryer results are usually an airflow or a sensing problem — a machine that cannot move air dries unevenly, and one whose sensors are coated stops before the load is dry.
What you are looking at
- Loads come out with thick lint on the fabric — A filter that is not sealing in its slot, or air moving too slowly to carry lint away.
- The condensate tank fills quickly, or the condenser filter has never been removed — A condensing dryer has two filter stages and a water-handling path a vented machine does not have.
- NEAR MISS — everything is damp and the drum is cold — That is a heating fault and the heating page covers it.
The ranking that matters

- Second: Feel for a strong warm flow at the outside hood during a cycle. — Next, and it needs no tool.
- Third: Look at the felt seal around the drum opening for wear, gaps or fabric fibres caught in it. — Only once the checks above are clean.

Read this before starting
Safety
Unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker before removing any panel or reaching into the lint slot — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never dry anything that has been in contact with a flammable solvent, oil or wax, even after washing: those loads are the classic cause of a dryer fire, and no filter or duct change prevents it.
Where the owner work ends
Call a technician when clean sensors, a clean filter and a proven duct still leave the load damp or unevenly dried, or when the drum is marking fabric — a worn drum seal or a damaged drum surface needs the cabinet open. Call sooner if the outside hood shows almost no air, because a fully restricted vent is a fire risk rather than only a performance one.
