Electrolux Dishwasher i60: Heating System Not Reaching Temperature
Electrolux Heating System Details
Electrolux dishwashers use the same concealed heating element design as Frigidaire but with a different NTC thermistor calibration. The Electrolux thermistor reads approximately 55,000 ohms at room temperature versus Frigidaire's 50,000 ohms. Using the wrong calibration value during testing leads to misdiagnosis.
The heating element on Electrolux models draws the same 1,200-1,500 watts but is rated for a tighter temperature tolerance. Electrolux wash programs target more precise temperatures for their ProClean system, making accurate temperature sensing more critical.

Diagnosis Sequence
1. Test the NTC thermistor first. Part: Electrolux-specific, $12-$25. Located near the sump in a clip bracket. Disconnect the two-pin plug. Measure resistance: 50,000-60,000 ohms at room temperature (note the higher range compared to Frigidaire). Infinite or under 2,000 ohms = failed.
2. Test the heating element. Disconnect element leads. Measure resistance: 15-25 ohms healthy. Infinite = burned through.
3. Test board relay output. During heating phase (clamp ammeter on element wire): 10-12 amps expected. Zero = board relay failure.
Component Replacement
Thermistor: 10-minute swap, unclip and replug. Element: requires pulling the dishwasher, tipping on back, nut-and-gasket removal from below. Board: inner door panel removal.
Safety First — Know the Risks
Live 120V wiring in a wet environment is one of the most dangerous DIY scenarios. Water + electricity = serious shock risk. Our techs are licensed and insured — let them handle the risk.

Electrolux ProClean and Temperature Precision
The ProClean wash system on Electrolux dishwashers adjusts spray patterns based on water temperature feedback. With i60 active, ProClean cannot optimize its cycles because the temperature input is unreliable. This means even if the dishwasher continues operating on some models, wash quality degrades beyond just reduced heat.
The Real Cost of DIY
Average DIY attempt: $150-400 in tools you may use once, plus the risk of further damage. Our diagnostic visit costs $0 — we find the problem and give you an honest quote.

FAQ
Is the Electrolux thermistor the same as Frigidaire? No. Electrolux thermistors have a different resistance calibration (55K vs. 50K at room temperature). Using a Frigidaire replacement causes the board to read temperatures incorrectly.
Can i60 disable the Electrolux ProClean system? Effectively yes. ProClean relies on accurate temperature feedback. Without it, the system cannot optimize spray patterns.
Does the Electrolux element last longer than Frigidaire? Both use similar concealed element designs with comparable lifespans. The primary lifespan factor is mineral scale, not brand-specific design.
