The short answer
A Comfee CERT refrigerator that runs steadily without pulling the cabinet down is almost never a dead compressor. The sealed system is the last suspect, not the first, and the checks below are ordered to make that case before anyone pays for it. These are compact cabinets, so the condenser works in a tight space and coil, compressor and room air share one small volume of moving air.
What the owner sees and hears
- Daylight at one corner of the door — Slip a banknote into the seal and close the door — if it pulls free easily, that corner is not sealing.
- Wildly uneven temperature between compartments — That split is the classic stranded-air pattern: it is being made and not distributed.
- The fan cannot be heard with the door open — No airflow with everything else running strands the cold at the evaporator, which is why one corner may be frozen while the rest is warm.

Safety
Coil fins are sharp and the tubing behind them is hot — gloves and a cooled-down machine make this a five-minute job. Leave the sealed system alone entirely; it needs recovery equipment and a licence, and opening it releases refrigerant that has to be recovered. Keep food safety in view: a refrigerator holds food safely at 40 °F (4 °C) or below, so anything perishable belongs in a cooler with ice until the cabinet is back.
