Straight answer first
Most noise complaints on a Comfee CERT refrigerator are contact noise, not a failing part. With everything packed into one small bay, tubing, fan and shroud sit within millimetres of each other and contact noise is common. The steps below place the sound first and only then ask whether the part making it is faulty.
What the owner sees and hears
- A rattle only when the cabinet is opened — Rearranging the shelf is the whole fix.
- A fan noise that rises and falls with the door — Hold the door switch in and listen — that is how you confirm it is the fan.
- A hum that resonates — That is vibration finding a path out, not a failing compressor.
- A ticking against something from inside the compartment — Scraping is mechanical contact — find it before the motor pays for it.

The order to work in
- Check the condensate pan sits square on its rails — A warped tray will buzz however you set it.
- Start with how the unit stands — All four feet must bear; a cabinet that moves under your hand is not level.
- Check the fan area for ice or fouling — Ice against the blade also means a defrost question alongside the noise.
- Give the unit air on every side — Second because contact noise dominates on light cabinets.
- Press a hand on the rear panel while it runs — Do it with the machine running, since the noise is the test.
