What E305 actually is#
The Wi-Fi module in Bosch smart ovens (HBL8753UC, HBL8451UC, HBN8451UC series) connects to an internal antenna through a small coaxial pigtail with a U.FL snap connector. During self-clean (480C/900F), thermal expansion of the chassis causes micro-movement at that connector, and over repeated cycles it can loosen enough to break the antenna link. The module stays powered and functional, but with no antenna it can't transmit or receive — so the oven works and Home Connect goes offline. Step 2: reseat and secure the connector#
If it stays offline, turn off the breaker and remove the oven's top panel (a few screws, accessible from above on many installs). Find the Wi-Fi module — a small green PCB near the main control board — and the thin U.FL coaxial cable running to the antenna strip. Press the U.FL connector firmly onto the module socket until you feel a small snap. Then secure it: a small piece of Kapton tape across the connector and cable, or a drop of low-strength threadlocker on the outer shell (never the electrical contact), keeps thermal cycling from loosening it again.
When the module needs replacing#
