The short version
A leak on the DDT line is found by watching rather than by dismantling. Dry the floor, lay paper at the front foot, at each side and behind the cabinet, and run one short programme: the sheet that wets tells you which third of the fault tree to work in.
What you will notice
- The floor is wet but the machine has not run — On the models this family spans, a standing leak with the machine idle means the fill side, since nothing else holds pressure between cycles.
- A slow drip from the door corner hours after a cycle — Water trapped in the gasket channel finds its way out slowly, which looks like a serious leak and is usually a cleaning job.
- The cabinet sides feel warm and damp during a wash — Steam escaping past the seal rather than liquid water, which points at the gasket seating instead of a split hose. The same is true of each model covered here.
- Water only appears on full loads — A load-dependent leak points at spray deflection or at foam height rather than at a connection, which leaks regardless of what is inside.

What is usually behind it
- A dirty, hardened or displaced door gasket — Ranked first on the DDT line because the gasket is a single moulded strip held in a channel: grease hardens it, a knock lifts a corner, and either one breaks the seal along the whole edge rather than at a point. The models in the table behave the same way here.
- Over-foaming from the wrong detergent — Across the whole of this line, hand dish soap or too much rinse aid raises foam above the door line and it escapes at the weakest point. It reads as a hardware fault and is entirely consumable-related.
- An overloaded or badly loaded lower rack — A tall item deflecting the upper spray arm can throw water directly at the door edge, which defeats a gasket that is in perfect condition.
- A rinse-aid reservoir overfilled or leaking — Excess rinse aid enters the wash and raises foam, which escapes at the door line and produces a convincing gasket leak with a perfect gasket.
- A perished sump gasket under the tub — Last because it needs the machine out of its housing to see and because every cheaper cause above it produces an identical puddle at the front foot.
How to narrow it down
- Establish where the water lands before anything else — Dry the floor, lay paper at the front foot, at each side and behind, and run a short programme. This single step splits the fault tree in three. That is true of every model this family spans.
- Run a finger along the whole gasket — Second, because it is free and because on the DDT line a hardened or lifted section is felt long before it is seen. Clean it with hot water and check it seats in its channel all round.
- Review the detergent and the rinse-aid setting — Third, because over-foaming produces a convincing door leak with nothing wrong. Run one cycle with the correct product and a normal dose before suspecting hardware. It does not vary across the models listed on this page.
- Check the machine is level in its housing — A cabinet leaning forward drains its base tray onto the floor rather than back into the sump, turning a trivial escape into a visible leak.

Switch off at the breaker and close the supply tap before touching any connection. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and the fill side stays under mains pressure until the tap is shut.

When to book a visit
Call when the gasket, the detergent, the rinse aid, the loading, the levelling and every visible joint are clear and the base tray still fills. At that point the water is coming from the tub or the sump housing. It is the same on all the models in the table on this page.
