The short version
Standing water at the end of a programme on the DDT line is a flow problem with a short list of suspects, and the list is ordered by how easy each one is to reach. The filter stack lifts out by hand, the hose is behind the cabinet, and the pump is under the tub. Work outward from the tub and you will usually stop before the third.
What you will notice
- The machine gurgles at the sink when it tries to empty — On the models this family spans, a noise at the sink rather than at the appliance points at the house standpipe or the waste connection instead of the machine.
- Water appears in the tub again some hours after a cycle — A drain hose that was never looped high enough lets waste water siphon back, so a machine that drained correctly refills itself while standing idle.
- The lower spray arm sits in water when the door is opened mid-cycle — Normal drain intervals inside a programme leave the sump nearly dry; water touching the arm between phases is early evidence of a restriction. The same is true of each model covered here.

What is usually behind it
- Debris packed into the filter stack — Broken glass, labels and seeds collect in the fine mesh first and the coarse basket second. On the DDT line the whole stack sits directly over the pump inlet, so a partial block starves the pump of flow before it stops it outright. The models in the table behave the same way here.
- A kinked or trapped drain hose — Across the whole of this line, the hose leaves these cabinets high and turns immediately, so pushing the machine back into a tight housing pinches it against the wall. It is the single most common cause that has nothing wrong with the appliance at all.
- A drain hose routed without a high loop — Without the loop the sump siphons back and the machine appears to refill itself, which reads as a drain failure when it is a routing one.
- Fragments from a broken item in the pump inlet — Common enough to deserve its own entry: glass and china shards pass the coarse basket, reach the impeller, and jam it without ever filling the mesh.
- A worn pump impeller that no longer moves water — Last because wear is gradual and because every blockage above it produces the same result instantly. It is distinguished by a machine that drains slowly with a demonstrably clear path.
How to narrow it down
- Bail out the standing water first — A cup and a sponge, because every later check floods the floor otherwise and because the depth tells you whether the sump emptied partially or not at all. That is true of every model this family spans.
- Unscrew and clear the whole filter stack — Second, because it costs nothing and because on the DDT line it sits over the pump inlet, so it explains both a slow drain and a stopped one.
- Look into the pump inlet with a torch — Third, once the filter is out the inlet is visible from inside the tub, so the impeller is checked without moving the machine. It does not vary across the models listed on this page.

Switch the appliance off at the breaker before anything is dismantled. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Treat every sump as if it contains glass, because the households that report drain faults are disproportionately the ones that broke something.

When to book a visit
Call when the filter stack, the impeller inlet, the hose insertion depth and the household waste are all proven and the sump still holds water at the end of a drain-only programme.
