A Beko DDT dishwasher that will not start is far more often a door latch that is not registering than a dead control board. These models will accept a programme selection and light the panel while still refusing to run, because the latch microswitch sits in the circuit between the panel and the cycle. Check the latch and the supply before anything else.
What owners actually see
- Only some buttons respond — Across the whole of this line, a partially responsive panel is usually a child lock rather than a failed touch surface, and the lock is cleared with a button combination.
- The machine worked yesterday and is dead today — A sudden and total change points at the supply or at a state that was set, rather than at a component that wore out.
- Other kitchen appliances went off at the same time — A shared circuit has tripped, and the dishwasher is reporting a household event rather than a fault of its own. This applies to the whole line rather than to one model.

- The door is closed but not latched — First on the DDT line by a wide margin. A protruding handle, a tall item in the upper rack or a slightly sagging door stops the latch engaging, and the panel still lights because the display is upstream of the latch switch. Call when the latch engages audibly, the socket is proven live, no lock or delay is set, the tap is open and the machine still does nothing.
