The XQB answer in short
An Avanti XQB washer that stops partway through a cycle is usually waiting rather than broken: for water it is not getting, for drainage it cannot achieve, or for a balance it cannot find. Work out WHERE in the cycle it stops and the fault names itself.
What you notice first
- It keeps repeating a rinse or a spin — On the XQB models listed below, a repeated step is a machine retrying, not a machine confused.
- It stops at the same point every time — Within the XQB family, a fault that keeps to one point in the cycle is far easier to place than one that wanders.
- It stops and the panel shows a code or a flashing pattern — On XQB models in particular, a displayed code is the most useful thing on the machine — write it down.
- It runs right through but the load is still soaking — On this family, the cycle completed on paper and the spin achieved nothing, which is a drainage or balance result.
- The cycle takes far longer than it used to — On XQB models in particular, time is a symptom in its own right, and it usually precedes an outright stall.
- NEAR MISS — it completes but leaves water in the drum — Then the drain path is the fault: read the drainage-failure page for your model line.
Likely causes for XQB models, most common first
- A restricted or absent water supply — First, because a machine that cannot reach its fill level simply waits, and the commonest reasons are a half-closed tap and a silted inlet screen.
- A slow or blocked drain path — Ranked here because the filter is owner-serviceable and because a partial blockage produces a stall rather than an obvious failure. On XQB models it earns that place.
- A blocked pressure-sensing tube giving a false level — It sits low because the machine has to be opened, but it explains contradictory symptoms.
- A control board or harness fault — Last: real, but far rarer than the four owner-checkable conditions above. It is ranked the same way on every XQB model.

Call when the supply, the filter, the load and the latch are all sound and the cycle still stalls at the same step. What is left — the heater, the level sensing, the harness, the board — needs a meter and access. Quote the step it stalls at and any code, because that is what the technician will ask first.
