Asko Dryer: Controls, Display or Error Code
A dryer panel that flashes, shows a code or refuses input is usually reporting something outside itself — most often the door interlock, a thermistor, or a protective device that has opened. Controls on dryers are simple compared with the machines they run, so a control that lights and responds has already proved most of itself sound. Asko is a Scandinavian premium brand: heavier build, stainless interiors, machines designed for long life and quiet running. Reading the code, clearing a lock and power-cycling are owner work; testing thermistors and boards is not.
What the owner actually observes
- A code or a flashing pattern appears at the start of a cycle or partway through one.
- The panel lights but will not accept a cycle selection, or accepts it and forgets it.

- The display is dim, blank or shows partial characters while the machine still runs.

- That the door closes with a firm click, and hold it pressed shut while starting — Order: third — Because: it separates a genuine control fault from a mechanical one without any tools
Owner-safe checks
- Look at what the machine has been consuming rather than what it is made of. The line is any test needing a meter inside the machine. Call if a temperature-related code returns after the whole lint path has been cleared. Call if the code is present from cold, which points at a sensor or its wiring rather than a real temperature. Call if the panel is intermittent or the display shows partial characters. Call if several unrelated functions failed at once after a power event.
