Asko Dishwasher: Cycle Will Not Run or Complete
A dishwasher that stops partway is nearly always stuck at a gate: it cannot fill, it cannot drain, or it cannot heat. The point at which it stops identifies which, and all three gates have accessible causes — a closed water valve, a silted filter, an element that has failed. A machine that appears to run for hours is usually waiting rather than working. - Look at what the machine has been consuming rather than what it is made of. When to call a technician
The line is anything past the filter, the hoses and the valve. Call if the machine still stops at the drain step with the filter and waste connection clear. Call if it never advances past the wash, which suggests it is waiting for a temperature it cannot reach. Call if it stops at a different point every time with no code, which suggests an intermittent latch or connection. Call if it reports a flood or leak fault, since that may mean water in the base tray.
