Asko Dishwasher: Abnormal Noise or Vibration
Most dishwasher noise is something being struck rather than something failing: a spray arm hitting a pan handle, a fallen item lying on the sump, or an object drawn into the pump. Asko is a Scandinavian premium brand: heavier build, stainless interiors, machines designed for long life and quiet running. Checking the load, the arms and the sump is owner work and it explains most of these. Pump and bearing noise is not.
What the owner actually observes
- A rhythmic knocking or ticking that keeps time with the spray arm turning.
- A grinding or rattling that happens only at the drain step.
- A loud humming that has always been there but has become louder.
- A scraping when the lower arm passes a particular point.
- The machine is much louder in one kitchen position than it used to be elsewhere.

Owner-safe checks
- Look at what the machine has been consuming rather than what it is made of. When to call a technician

Call if a continuous hum has become much louder, which points at a pump bearing. Call if a spray arm does not turn freely even when nothing obstructs it.
