Asko Dishwasher: Does Not Clean or Dry
A dishwasher that leaves dishes dirty is almost always failing at one of three things: the water is not reaching the dishes, the water is not hot enough, or the water is dirty when it gets there. Asko is a Scandinavian premium brand: heavier build, stainless interiors, machines designed for long life and quiet running. - The spray arms by removing them and holding each up to the light, clearing every hole — Order: second — Because: a blocked arm produces the tell-tale pattern of one area clean and another untouched, which is diagnostic in itself
- That the arms spin freely by hand with the racks loaded, and that nothing overhangs into their path — Order: third — Because: it is free and it explains results that vary from load to load rather than being consistently poor
Owner-safe checks
- Look at what the machine has been consuming rather than what it is made of. - Clear every filter and screen the machine has, and check whether the water it runs in is hard: scale and detergent residue collect on the surfaces that matter most and produce symptoms that mimic component failure. When to call a technician
The line is when the accessible parts are clean and the results are still poor. Call if results remain poor after the filters, arms and loading have all been corrected. Call if the machine never gets hot, which points at the heater or its control. Call if a spray arm does not turn even when nothing obstructs it, which suggests the wash pump or a blocked feed. Call if detergent is left undissolved in the dispenser at the end of every cycle.
