Ariston Washer: Odor or Mold
A washer that smells is telling you that biofilm has built up where water sits and never dries — the door seal fold, the detergent drawer, the pump filter and the outer tub. When to call a technician
The line is when the accessible reservoirs are clean and the smell persists. Call if the smell returns quickly after the seal, drawer and filter have all been cleaned and a hot maintenance cycle has been run. Call if there is standing water in the drum between cycles, since that is a drainage fault feeding the smell. Call if the door seal is damaged as well as fouled, because a damaged seal cannot be cleaned back to sound. Call if the smell is of drains rather than of mould, which can indicate a plumbing trap problem rather than the machine.
