Ariston Washer: Will Not Drain
A washer left standing full of water has nearly always got a blockage rather than a failed pump, and the blockage is usually in the one place designed to be opened by the owner: the drain pump filter behind the lower panel. Ariston is an European mainstream brand on shared group platforms: conventional layouts, compact European dimensions, well covered by documentation. Clearing the pump filter and checking the hose are owner work and they resolve most of these. Replacing a pump or a pressure switch is not.
What the owner actually observes
- The cycle stops with the drum full of water, often with an error indication.

- Read what the machine is telling you. When to call a technician
The line is anything past the pump filter and the hose. Call if the pump is silent at the drain step, which points at the pump, its wiring or the control. Call if the machine drains and then refills, which suggests a siphon or a pressure-sensing fault. Call if the filter and hose are clear and drainage is still slow. Call if the drum will not empty and the door remains locked, since a locked door on a full drum needs the machine opened.
