Rank by the event, not by the code
When a Hisense washer starts faulting immediately after a move, an installation or a power cut, the event is the most useful piece of evidence you have. A machine that has just been relocated points at transit bolts and levelling. One that faulted during a storm points at a latched code. A brand-new machine points at installation and at demonstration mode. Each of those has a different first check.
What you are seeing
- The fault appeared on the first cycle after a move or an install.
- A code arrived during or just after a power interruption.
- The machine faults only when it reaches the spin part of the cycle.
- The panel behaves normally until the drum tries to turn.
- Not this fault: The machine has always behaved this way since new - read the symptom-first page instead.
- Not this fault: The machine is noisy but completes cycles - that is a balance fault, not a control fault.
Ranked by what happened
- Transit bolts still fitted, or refitted for a move — Why ranked: First for any machine that has been moved or installed. Bolted drums cannot spin, and the machine reports the resulting fault as an error rather than as a jam.
- Latched code from a power interruption — Why ranked: Second because it is free to test and it explains a fault that appeared with no physical change to the machine at all.
- Installation not finished - supply tap closed, drain hose kinked or too high — Why ranked: A machine that cannot fill or drain in time faults out. On a new install this outranks anything electronic.
- Machine not level, tripping its own imbalance protection — Why ranked: Ranked here because it only shows at spin, which is a strong timing clue you already have.
- Demonstration mode or a pairing state left set — Why ranked: Last by frequency in this history, but instant to clear, and worth confirming before any part is ordered.
What to check, in order
- If the machine has been moved, look at the rear panel for transit bolts. — Because: Rank one, visible from behind, and it makes every other check pointless until it is cleared.
- Cut power at the breaker, wait, restore it, and run a short cycle. — Because: It separates a latched code from a live fault in a single cycle.
- Confirm the supply tap is fully open and the drain hose is unkinked and at the right height. — Because: Rank three, and both are visible behind the machine without tools.
- Rock the machine by its corners and adjust the feet until it sits solid. — Because: It settles rank four, and a fault that only appears at spin usually ends here.
Checks you can do safely
- Look at the rear panel. If bolts pass through into the drum housing, remove them and fit the supplied blanking caps. — N: 1 — Tools: Wrench — Time: moderate
- Switch the breaker off, wait, restore it, and run the shortest cycle available with no load. — N: 2 — Tools: None — Time: moderate
- Open the supply tap fully, straighten the drain hose, and confirm it is not pushed too far down the standpipe. — N: 3 — Tools: None — Time: quick
- Push each top corner in turn. If the machine rocks, adjust the feet until all four sit firm, then lock them. — N: 4 — Tools: Wrench — Time: moderate
- Stop rule: Stop here. Anything beyond bolts, hoses and feet means opening a cabinet that carries line voltage, and that is service work.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the washer or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Shut the supply tap before disconnecting any hose, and empty the drum before attempting to move the machine. A washer is a heavy appliance - move it with a second person and walk it, do not drag it. Never defeat the door lock to open a machine that still holds water.
When this becomes a service call
Transit bolts are out, the machine is level, and it still faults at spin. The same code returns after a full power cycle at the breaker. The machine will not fill or drain with the tap open and the hose clear. The appliance is still within its manufacturer warranty, which makes this a warranty call.
