What the display is telling you
FC E3 says the oven’s connection attempt failed, from a timeout, weak signal, a router problem or, least often, the oven’s own Wi-Fi module or wiring. Keep cooking as normal and work through the network checks first.
Error codes

|---|---|
| FC E3 | The appliance could not connect to the router. There may a problem with the due to connection time out, poor signal strength, a failed router, the Wi-Fi Module in the appliance, or the associated wiring. |
What you notice alongside FC E3
- The app cannot find or reach the oven — The direct result of a failed connection.
- The connection worked before and then dropped — Often after a router change, a reboot or a new password.
- Other devices near the oven have weak Wi-Fi too — Signal strength at the oven is the likely limit.
- NEAR MISS: the oven will not heat — That is not a Wi-Fi fault; connectivity codes do not stop cooking.
What triggers FC E3, ranked
- Weak signal at the oven — The most common cause: metal cabinetry and the oven’s own steel shell shield the module, and a distant router barely reaches it.
- Router settings or a router change — Second: anything that changed on the router side, including its name, password or band setup, stops a working oven from reconnecting.
- Setup timed out — Third: the setup window closed before the steps in the app were finished.
- Oven Wi-Fi module or its wiring — Last: the module itself, a technician part, once every network cause is excluded.
Diagnostic order
- Check signal at the oven — Stand at the oven with a phone on the same network and watch the signal bars.
- Confirm network name and password — Changed credentials are the most common reason a working oven drops off.
- Retry setup without pausing — Have the password ready so the steps finish inside the setup window.
- Test with the router closer, if practical — A connection that succeeds close up proves signal was the limit.
Reset and owner-safe checks
- Router and oven restart — Restart the router, wait for it to come back, then switch the oven’s breaker off for a minute and on again.
About 10 min
- Re-run setup in the app — Start setup again with the network password to hand and finish each step promptly.

- Check the band setup — Many appliance modules join only the router’s longer-range band; make sure it is on and not hidden behind a combined name.
Tools: router app or admin pageAbout 10 min
- STOP before opening the oven for the module — The Wi-Fi module sits behind panels; once the network is ruled out, it is a technician part.
Safety first
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. With the breaker off, press a key to confirm the display stays dark before you touch anything behind a panel.
When a reset is not enough
A technician is only needed once the network causes are ruled out: the oven still fails with strong signal at the oven, a restarted router and the correct password. Then the Wi-Fi module or its wiring is next, and that is panel-off work.

Scope of this reading
The reading above covers Jenn-Air wall ovens and ranges whose electronic control reports codes in this form. It does not cover Jenn-Air models with knob-only controls, Jenn-Air cooktops and microwaves, which keep their own code lists, or sister brands built on the same platform, whose lists can read differently. A model-specific page for FC E3, where one exists, is the more specific answer; none exists yet, so check the use-and-care guide for your exact model before ordering any part.
