What FC E1 means
FC E1 means the oven tried and failed to connect to your Wi-Fi router: the brand lists a connection timeout, weak signal, a failed router, the oven’s Wi-Fi module or its wiring as the possibilities. Cooking is not affected, so the oven can be used normally while you sort out the connection.
Error codes
Reference| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| FC E1 | The appliance could not connect to the router. There may a problem with the due to connection time out, poor signal strength, a failed router, the Wi-Fi Module in the appliance, or the associated wiring. |
What you observe
- The app cannot find or reach the oven — The direct result of a failed connection.
- Setup in the app stalls and times out — The connection window closed before the oven joined.
- NEAR MISS: the oven will not heat — That is not a Wi-Fi fault; connectivity codes do not stop cooking.
What usually sets this code
- Weak signal at the oven — The most common cause: metal cabinetry and the oven’s own steel shell shield the module, and a distant router barely reaches it.
- Router settings or a router change — Second: anything that changed on the router side, including its name, password or band setup, stops a working oven from reconnecting.
- Setup timed out — Third: the setup window closed before the steps in the app were finished.
- Oven Wi-Fi module or its wiring — Last: the module itself, a technician part, once every network cause is excluded.
Check in this order
- Check signal at the oven — Stand at the oven with a phone on the same network and watch the signal bars.
- Restart the router, then the oven — Router first, then the oven’s breaker for a minute, so both start clean.
- Confirm network name and password — Changed credentials are the most common reason a working oven drops off.
- Retry setup without pausing — Have the password ready so the steps finish inside the setup window.
Clearing the code, then checking
- Router and oven restart — Restart the router, wait for it to come back, then switch the oven’s breaker off for a minute and on again.
About 10 min
- Signal check — Check the signal on a phone held at the oven; if it is weak, a mesh point or extender near the kitchen is the fix.
Tools: smartphoneAbout 5 min
- Re-run setup in the app — Start setup again with the network password to hand and finish each step promptly.
Tools: smartphoneAbout 10 min
- STOP before opening the oven for the module — The Wi-Fi module sits behind panels; once the network is ruled out, it is a technician part.
Safety for this oven
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Ranges and wall ovens are hard-wired or plugged in behind the unit, so the breaker is the safer way to cut power. A range that has been pulled out goes back onto its anti-tip bracket before it is used again.
When to call a technician
A technician is only needed once the network causes are ruled out: the oven still fails with strong signal at the oven, a restarted router and the correct password. Then the Wi-Fi module or its wiring is next, and that is panel-off work.

Generalized information
This is generalized information: it reads FC E1 the way Jenn-Air documents it for Jenn-Air wall ovens and ranges whose electronic control reports codes in this form. It does not apply to Jenn-Air models with knob-only controls, Jenn-Air cooktops and microwaves, which keep their own code lists, or sister brands built on the same platform, whose lists can read differently. No model-specific page for FC E1 exists yet; when one does, it is the more specific answer for that model line.
