The short answer
The leak is nearly always on the condensate side rather than a supply side, because most of these machines have no supply. On an EdgeStar dryer the order that matters is this: "Condensate tank overflowing or leaking at its seal" first, then the rest of the list below. Ventless and built-in designs move heat and water differently from a freestanding machine, and the diagnosis has to follow that path.
What you actually observe
- Water at the front of the machine where the tank sits — The leak is at the tank. Check whether it happens every time or only sometimes.

- Water at the bottom front of the cabinet — That is where the condenser access is. Check whether it happens every time or only sometimes.

Causes, most likely first on an EdgeStar dryer

The order of operations on an EdgeStar dryer starts with isolation. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. This appliance combines a heavy electrical load with heat, and a loose connection at its plug or terminal block is the mechanism behind most appliance fires. If the plug, the outlet or the terminal is warm, discoloured or smells hot, leave the supply off and call rather than running another cycle to see whether it repeats. Do not test elements or terminals with the appliance energised, and do not bridge a protective device that has operated.
When this becomes a service call
The boundary on an EdgeStar dryer is worth stating as a condition rather than as advice.
