There is no water supply here
Compact cabinets have no plumbing, so a leak here is condensation that has gone somewhere it should not. Look at the drain point at the back inside the cabinet, and at whether the cabinet is tilted forward.
What you are seeing
- Water pooling in the base of the cabinet.
- Water on the floor at the front.
- A wet patch under the cabinet only after a defrost.
- Condensation running down the inside back wall.
- Damp under the salad area or the lowest shelf.
- Not this fault: Heavy frost on the plate is an icing symptom - read the ice page.
- Not this fault: Condensation on the outside of the door usually points at the seal.
Most likely causes, in this manufacturer order
- Cabinet tilted forward instead of slightly back — Why ranked: First on a compact unit. The melt water runs to the front instead of to the drain point at the back.
- Drain hole at the back inside the cabinet blocked — Why ranked: Second: a small hole blocks with a crumb or a label and then the base fills.
- Door left ajar, so the plate ices and then melts heavily — Why ranked: Third. More moisture in means more melt than the drain was designed to take.
- Outside drip tray full or dislodged — Why ranked: Fourth. Water reaching the tray still ends up on the floor if the tray is overfull or out of position.
- Cracked liner or displaced drain tube — Why ranked: Last, and identified once levelling, a clear drain and a closed door have been ruled out.
What to check, in order
- Check whether the cabinet tilts forward using a level on the top. — Because: Tilt decides which way melt water travels, and it is the leading cause here.
- Find the drain hole low on the inside back wall and check it is clear. — Because: A blocked hole makes the base fill before any water reaches the outside.
- Note whether water appears only after a defrost or continuously. — Because: Timing separates a melt-routing problem from a continuous condensation problem.
- Look underneath at the drip tray position and level. — Because: A dislodged or overfull tray puts water on the floor even when the drain works.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never push a wire or a skewer into a drain hole - a punctured liner is not repairable. Dry the floor promptly; water and an electrical appliance do not belong together. Flush a drain with warm water, never a hard tool. Do not run the cabinet while its base is full of water. Switch off before reaching underneath.
When this becomes a service call
Water returns after levelling and clearing the drain. Water appears continuously rather than after a defrost. There is a visible crack in the liner. There is water at the outlet or the cord.
