What an in-room ventless dryer is like
These are the compact in-room dryers supplied into resident apartments - normally ventless condenser or heat-pump machines standing in a closet. They dry cooler and slower than a vented machine by design, they collect the water they remove, and they reject their heat into the room. Almost every complaint traces back to one of those three facts. This page names each problem and points at the page that covers it.

- Condenser and filter maintenance — Why ranked: Named first because this machine removes water through a condenser and two filters, and every one of them blocks with lint.
- The water tank routine — Why ranked: Second: a machine that has nowhere to put water pauses, shortens cycles and reports faults that are not faults.
- Closet ventilation and clearance — Why ranked: Third. A condenser dryer rejects heat into the room, and a sealed closet full of stored fabric defeats it and raises the fire risk.
- Load size — Why ranked: Fourth. A compact drum loaded like a family machine will not dry in one cycle whatever else is right.
- Interlocks and locks — Why ranked: Fifth - door, tank and child lock account for most machines reported as dead that are perfectly healthy.

When this becomes a service call
Any scorched smell, repeated trip or hot closet wall is stop-and-report, not wait-and-see. Water on an apartment floor is a fall hazard and is made safe and reported before diagnosis. Emptying the tank, cleaning filters, rinsing the condenser and sizing loads are resident and staff work. Condenser removal, heat-pump work and any machine that runs with its door open are technician work.
