A pause is usually the tank
A ventless dryer that stops partway is usually reporting a full tank or a blocked condenser rather than a fault. These machines are designed to pause rather than to overflow or overheat, so an interrupted cycle is normally the machine protecting its own water path.
What you are seeing
- The cycle stops partway with an indicator showing.
- The machine pauses and resumes when the tank is emptied.
- The cycle ends far earlier than the time shown.
- A sensing cycle finishes almost immediately.
- The machine stops and the load is still soaking.
- Not this fault: A machine that never starts at all is a start fault - read that page.
- Not this fault: A completed cycle that leaves the load damp is a drying fault.
Most likely causes, in Direct Supply order
- Water tank filled during the cycle — Why ranked: First on this machine. It pauses by design, and emptying the tank resumes the cycle.
- Filters or condenser blocked, so the machine cannot progress — Why ranked: Second: a machine that cannot condense cannot reach its end condition, so it stops rather than running for ever.
- Sensing cycle ending early on a small or synthetic load — Why ranked: Third. This is normal behaviour and it is mistaken for a fault constantly.
- Door easing open in a tight closet — Why ranked: Fourth. A machine pushed against a closet wall can have its door nudged, which drops the interlock.
- Control or sensor fault — Why ranked: Last, and separated from the rest by not responding to an empty tank and clean filters.
What to check, in order
- Check the tank when the machine stops. — Because: A full tank at the stop is the leading cause and it is confirmed by simply looking.
- Empty the tank and restart, then see whether the cycle completes. — Because: This tests the first cause directly and takes no tools.
- Clean both filters and the condenser, then repeat the same load. — Because: A machine that cannot condense cannot finish.
- Note whether the cycle selected is sensing or timed. — Because: A sensing cycle on a small synthetic load ends quickly by design.

Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never run the machine with a filter missing or the condenser removed, and keep stored items clear of a closet machine. Do not force a cycle to continue by restarting repeatedly. Never run the machine with the tank removed unless it is plumbed to a drain. Report a scorched smell immediately.
When this becomes a service call
The cycle stops with an empty tank and clean filters. The machine ends every cycle immediately regardless of the setting. The load is soaking at every stop. There is any burning or scorched smell.
