The short answer
On a DCS dishwasher, why the cycle will not run or will not finish comes down to a short list, and on this line the order is not the generic one. The diagnosis starts at the seal on whichever layout you actually have — drawer lid or hinged door, because the older badge covers both layouts, so the first job is establishing which one is in front of you: the seal that fails is a different part, in a different place, in each case. - The machine runs far longer than its stated cycle and never ends.
- A cycle restarts itself from the beginning partway through.

- Clean the filter and sump and run a drain-only cycle to confirm the machine empties fully. — Order: Fourth — Why: A machine that cannot drain between phases will never complete a cycle, whatever else is fixed.

Safety
Switch the machine off at its breaker and close its supply valve before removing any panel or hose. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not open the door during a heated wash phase — the water and the steam are hot enough to scald. Never bypass a float or a door switch to make a cycle continue.
When this stops being an owner job
Call when the supply is open, the inlet screen and filter are clean, the machine drains fully on demand and the hot water arrives hot, and the cycle still stops or extends. What remains is the heater circuit, the door switch and the control, all of which are metered.
