A dishwasher door carries a latch that the machine will not run without, a gasket that holds back a tub of hot water, and springs that control how it falls — and all three fail in different ways. - Push both racks fully in and look along the door edge — A gap anywhere along the top is enough to let steam past and to leave the latch marginal.
