The short answer
On the Comfee CLC platform, water on the floor comes from four places, and the timing narrows it to one before you touch anything. The filter cap at the front is closed by hand and it is the one that is most often left slightly loose. Dry the floor, run a short cycle, and watch rather than guess.
The observable signs on this platform
- A puddle that comes with the fill — Check both hose ends and their washers with the machine running.
- Water tracking from the lower front corner — Open the flap and look for a trail before pulling the machine out.
- A puddle that grows while it washes — Note whether the load was large — that changes the answer.
- A puddle that arrives with the drain — Look at where the drain hose joins the machine as well as where it enters the waste.
- Damp on the wall behind — Rear water is the hose connections or the drain spigot and needs the machine pulled out.
- NEAR MISS — moisture rather than a leak — Condensation is even and thin, while a leak is localised.
Ranked causes for these models
- The drain filter cover left loose — Common enough that it is worth checking before anything is moved.
- The outlet connection not secure — It ranks here because the drain hose is flexed every time the machine moves, and splits form at the bends.
- A hardened washer at the tap — Top of the list and the cheapest to fix: a washer costs almost nothing.
- Water backing out of the drawer — Cleaning the drawer and its housing is owner work and often the whole fix.
- Leaking from inside the machine — Last, because everything above it is outside the cabinet and free to check.
Check in this order, and why
- Time the leak against the cycle — Use paper towel: it shows the first drop and where it came from.
- Dry both supply hoses and check every joint — Check the thread is square: a crooked thread never seals.
- Check the cap seating and its O-ring — A cap left a quarter-turn short leaks only when the pump runs, which is why it survives casual inspection.
- Check the gasket for trapped fibre or damage — Look for splits as well as debris.
- Test whether the water is actually foam — A dry rinse cycle separates foam from water in one test.
Safety first, and it is not optional

Take the machine out of use rather than running it to see how bad the leak gets. Shut the taps off before undoing any supply hose: these are under mains pressure whenever the taps are open. Dry the floor as you go and get help moving the machine: a wet floor and a heavy cabinet is how people get hurt.
