The short answer
Water around a Comfee CRR refrigerator almost always starts as condensate that missed its drain, not as a burst pipe. Nothing in that path is pressurised — it works on gravity, which means a slight tilt is enough to send water the wrong way. Water inside the cabinet and water on the floor behind it come from different places, so note which you have before you start.
What you actually observe
- Condensation on the outside — Sweating around the frame means the seal is passing, and the water it makes has to go somewhere.
- Damp where the cabinet meets the wall — Staining behind means the water has been arriving for a while, which changes the urgency.
- Ice across the base — Ice in the base is the frozen version of a blocked drain, seen at a colder setting.
- Water pooling at the front of the cabinet — Open the door and look at the base of the compartment — the answer is usually inside.
- NEAR MISS — an ice fault rather than a leak — Overfill at the mould makes a sheet under the bin without ever reaching the floor.
Causes, most likely first on the CRR line
- Melt water with nowhere to go — Top of the list because it explains both the water inside and the puddle outside, which no other cause does at once.
- Condensate missing the pan — A tray that simply overflows is usually reporting a cause above it: the rate has gone up.
- Supply line or fitting leaking — Where a line exists it ranks here because the joints are the part most often damaged during cleaning.
- A forward lean sending water out — It ranks this high because it decides whether you see the fault at all, and it is free to correct.
Check in this order, and why
- Start at the drain at the back of the compartment — First because it is the commonest cause and you can often see it once the drawers are out.
- Pull the unit out and look at the evaporation tray — A tray that is simply full is reporting more water than normal rather than failing.
- Put a level across the front and along the side — Rock each corner — a cabinet that moves is not level.
- Check whether the door closes on its seal everywhere — Test all four sides: failure is local and the hinge side is usually the one missed.

Pull the plug before mopping under or behind the unit — standing water at a plug is the hazard here. Treat the water damage as the first problem and the leak as the second. Once a line has been disturbed, watch it for a day before pushing the cabinet back.
