The answer first
A dryer that tumbles without heat is either not being given heat or not being allowed to keep it. On a Care dryer the vent is checked before any heating component. That puts a blocked vent or lint path at the top of the list here and a thermal cut-out that has opened at the bottom.
How this presents
- Clothes are hot but still damp — Heat without airflow — moisture has nowhere to go.
- The outside of the machine is very hot — Heat is staying inside the cabinet instead of leaving through the vent.
- NEAR MISS — the drum does not turn at all — That is the no-start page.
Causes, most likely first on this unit
- A blocked vent or lint path — Restricted airflow makes the machine overheat, so the safety cut-out drops the heat. Everything else on this list is rarer than this one. First on this class of machine because the vent, the lint path and the blower are what the platform depends on, and they are also what nobody services until something stops working.
- Half the electric supply missing — On an electric dryer, losing one leg of the supply leaves the drum turning and the heater dead — the single most misread fault on the machine. Supply is proved before anything is condemned, because a dead outlet and a dead appliance look identical.
- A failed heating element or gas ignition — An electric element fails open; a gas dryer fails to light and cycles the igniter without flame. The part itself is considered only once the conditions around it are proved, because it is the expensive answer.
- A thermal cut-out that has opened — It opened for a reason, and the reason is usually the vent.
The diagnostic order
- Feel the airflow at the outside vent hood while it runs — Weak flow outside is the answer, found without tools.
- Check both halves of the double breaker — A drum that turns without heat is the classic half-supply signature.
- Listen at a gas machine for the igniter and the burner — Clicking with no flame is an ignition fault, not an element fault.
Step by step, as far as it is safe to go
- Disconnect and clear the vent hose and the outside hood — Vacuum the hose, check the flap at the outside hood opens freely and remove any bird nesting.
Tools: vacuum
- Reset the breaker fully — both halves off and back on
- Run a short cycle and feel the exhaust at the hood — Strong, warm, damp air outside means the machine is working again.
- STOP before testing the element, thermostats or the gas valve — All are metered tests at mains voltage, and gas work is licensed work.

Safety
Never bypass a thermal cut-out or run a gas dryer with a suspect burner. If you smell gas: do not switch anything on or off, leave the building, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Unplug before opening the cabinet, and clear the vent before replacing any safety device.
The line between a fix and a service call
Call once the filter, the vent and the breaker are all proved and there is still no heat — elements, thermostats, igniters and gas valves are all metered or licensed work. Call immediately for any burning smell or for a gas machine that will not light.

What this page does not cover: model-specific figures, part numbers and service sequences for any single Care family — it describes how an import dryer behaves as a class. Where a more specific page exists for your unit it is linked below and should be read first.
