The short answer
When a Café refrigerator runs continuously and still reads warm, the fault is normally on the heat-rejection side or the air path, not inside the sealed system. That puts a temperature sensor reading wrong at the top of the list here and a defrost cycle that has stopped clearing the evaporator at the bottom.

- The cabinet is warm but the unit is clearly running — You can hear the compressor and feel the cabinet vibrate, yet the air inside is only mildly cool.
- It only struggles in hot weather — A margin problem: the unit is coping until the room gets warm.
- NEAR MISS — the display reads correctly but a thermometer disagrees — That is a sensor or control question, and it belongs on the controls page.
Likely causes on this kind of machine
- A temperature sensor reading wrong — A sensor that has drifted rather than failed tells the control the cabinet is already cold, so the unit stops cooling while insisting nothing is wrong. The order of checks
- Put a hand on the rear grille or the condenser area — Strong heat means the system is working and the problem is heat rejection.
- Listen for the internal fan with the door open and the switch held in — A running evaporator fan separates an air-path fault from a refrigeration one in seconds and costs nothing.
- Look for an air vent buried behind food — Cold air has to leave the vent before it can reach anything.
The owner-side procedure
- Check the doors close themselves from a hand-width open — If not, level the cabinet slightly nose-high and try again.

- Empty the cabinet of anything blocking a vent — Leave a clear path in front of every opening on the rear and side walls.
- STOP at the point where a panel or a meter is needed — Testing a fan motor, a defrost heater or a sensor means live terminals behind a panel.
