The short answer
The short answer for a Black+Decker freezer: a freezer makes water on purpose, and a leak is almost always that water failing to reach the drain. Clearing a drain, refitting a plug and levelling are owner work; a drain that reblocks weekly points at defrost performance.
What you actually see
- A puddle on the floor at the front of the cabinet — Water at the front has usually run forward along the base and out under the seal.

Safety
Two isolations, not one: power at the plug or breaker, water at the supply valve. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Standing water under an energized appliance is an electrical hazard first and a plumbing problem second.
