The short answer for these models
A refrigerator that hums away without getting cold has almost always stopped delivering cold air rather than stopped making it. Frost over the evaporator, a door that is no longer sealing and a condenser smothered in dust account for most of these, and all three are visible without a meter. The sealed system is the expensive answer and also the least likely one. What changes on the URBD models is the sequence rather than the diagnosis. A fan-cooled cabinet loses its cold to a blocked vent long before it loses it to a failing part, while a plate-cooled one loses it to frost thickness and to the door, which is why the airflow and frost checks belong at the top of the list here.
What you actually see
- Which form your URBD unit is — settle this first — One look at the rear wall settles it: a grille means the cold is delivered and can be blocked, a bare plate means the cold is the surface and cannot.
- The cabinet is warm but you can hear it running — There is compressor noise and a warm cabinet at the same time, which rules out most power faults immediately.
- The door has to be pushed to shut, or it swings back open — Anything that keeps the door off its seal by a fraction will warm the cabinet all on its own.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- A door that is not sealing, or is not shutting at all — Here because a seal is the cheapest part on the cabinet and the one that decides whether anything else matters. It is placed first on the URBD models rather than where the brand-level page puts it, because the form of the unit decides how much this can explain — which makes the airflow and frost checks the checks with the most to say.
- The sealed system or the compressor — Bottom of the list on purpose: it is the rarest of the five, the most expensive, and the only one that is not an owner check at any stage.
The order the checks belong in
- First — shut the door on a strip of paper and pull — Do it at several points around the frame. Anywhere the paper slides out without resistance is a leak, and it takes a minute to find.
- Second — feel the condenser and the air around it — Put a hand behind or underneath. The coil should be warm and the air near it should be moving; neither happens under a blanket of dust. On these models this is the step the construction changes: what you found at the step above decides how much weight to give what you find here.

Safety
Cut the power before a panel is disturbed, because a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Defrosting with heat is how liners crack and coils get punctured; time and an open door are the only safe method. Empty the cabinet before moving it and get a second pair of hands for the weight.
Where the owner job ends
The line is the panel and the refrigerant circuit. Everything in front of them is yours; everything behind them needs a technician. Book the visit once the cheap causes are excluded, and book it immediately if the compressor is running hot enough to smell or the cabinet has not dropped a degree in a day.
