The short answer
A Beko BWDB runs a wash and a dry back to back in one drum, and a combined cycle is genuinely long - long enough that owners regularly report a fault when the machine is working exactly as designed. Before anything is diagnosed, establish whether the machine has stopped or is simply still going.
What you observe
- The wash completes and the dry phase never progresses — Usually a closed tap or a restricted drain - the dry needs both.
- The whole cycle is very long but everything keeps running — Normal for a combined wash and dry, especially on a full load.
- The drum tumbles, pauses and tumbles without spinning — A load the drum cannot balance.
- Suds visible in the window after the wash — Over-dosing, which adds rinses and extends the cycle.

Causes, most likely first on this family
- Water supply closed during the dry phase — First, and specific to a combi: the dry condenses with tap water and will not run without it.
- Restricted drain stopping the dry — Second, because the condensate leaves by the same route as the wash water.
- Overloading for the dry phase — Third. A drum can wash more than it can dry, and an overfilled drum tumbles without drying.
- Unbalanced load — Fourth, and it stalls the spin that has to happen before any drying begins.
- Too much detergent — Last, and it stretches the wash with extra rinses rather than stopping it.
Check in this order, and why
- Watch for two minutes and decide whether anything is happening — First, because a long cycle and a stalled one are told apart by observation alone.
- Check both taps are fully open — Second, and the answer whenever the wash finishes and the dry does not start.
- Halve the load and run the dry phase alone — Third. Drying capacity is lower than washing capacity on every combi.
- Clean the pump filter and check the drain hose — Fourth, because the dry phase cannot shed condensate through a blocked route.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close the taps before disturbing a hose. Never force the door during or straight after a dry phase: the drum and the load are hot and the interlock holds until it is safe. Have towels ready before opening the pump filter, because the water behind it can be hot.

When to call a technician
Call when the taps are open, the load is halved, the drain is clear and the dry phase still does nothing, because that points at the heater, the fan, a sensor or the control. Call immediately if the machine trips its breaker at any point.
