The short answer
The Beko BWDB codes wash and dry in one drum, which adds a whole second machine's worth of noise sources to the usual front-load list. The first question is therefore not what the noise sounds like but which half of the cycle it happens in: a noise heard only while the machine is drying comes from parts that do not move during a wash at all.
What you observe
- A continuous rushing or whine only while drying — The drying fan. Nothing on the wash side runs then.
- Banging and walking during spin — Uneven feet or an unbalanced load.
- A tap on every drum rotation in any phase — A cracked drum paddle, or something trapped against the drum.
- A rumble that rises smoothly with spin speed — Drum bearings, which worsen over months.
- NEAR MISS - noise with water on the floor — The leak comes first; the water-leak page covers it.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Drying fan or its wheel — First for any noise confined to the dry phase, and the one fault a plain washer cannot have.
- Uneven feet or an unbalanced load — Second, and the leading cause of spin noise on a heavy combi.
- Transit bolts still fitted — Third, and unmistakable: hard drumming from the very first rotation after installation.
- Cracked drum paddle — Fourth, and the usual explanation for a regular tap.
- Worn drum bearings — Last, and the only one that rises smoothly with speed.
Check in this order, and why
- Note whether the noise is in the wash, the spin or the dry — First, because the dry phase and the wash phase share almost no moving parts.
- Run a dry phase on its own and listen — Second. It isolates the fan and heater from everything on the wash side.
- Check all four feet carry weight and their lock nuts are tight — Third, and the commonest fix for spin noise on a heavy machine.
- Turn the empty drum slowly by hand — Fourth. A scrape is a trapped object; a rumble following the rotation is a bearing.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close both taps before disturbing a hose. Let the machine cool before reaching into the drum after a dry cycle - the drum, the glass and the load stay hot for a long time. A combi is heavy; get help rather than levering it out on one corner.

When to call a technician
Call when the noise is confined to the dry phase, because the fan and its housing sit behind the cabinet and the air path is not owner-serviceable. Call also when the feet are set and the drum still rumbles under spin, which means bearings and splitting the outer tub.
