The short answer
A Beko BFL washer that does nothing when you press start is usually being held by its door interlock or by the supply behind it. On a front-loader the door lock is a condition rather than a courtesy - the machine will not begin until it has confirmed the door is latched - so a latch that is not quite making looks exactly like a dead machine.
What you observe
- The panel lights but pressing start does nothing — The machine has power and something is withholding permission - usually the door.
- The panel is dark and nothing responds — Supply: the plug, the receptacle or the breaker.
- The door will not latch with a positive click — A worn striker or dropped hinges; the interlock never confirms.
- The machine beeps or flashes when start is pressed — A condition is unmet and the control is telling you so - often a child lock or an open door.

Causes, most likely first on this family
- Door not latching so the interlock never confirms — First on any front-loader, because the machine is designed not to proceed without it.
- No power at the receptacle or a tripped breaker — Second, and settled in a minute with a lamp you know works.
- Child lock or control lock engaged — Third, and genuinely common - it survives a power cut and owners forget it is on.
- Failed door interlock — Fourth. The switch itself can fail closed-circuit-open after years of cycles.
- Start control or main board — Last, and both need a meter.
Check in this order, and why
- Note whether the panel lights at all — First, because it divides the fault into a supply problem and a permission problem.
- Close the door firmly and listen for the latch — Second. A positive click is the interlock engaging; anything softer is not.
- Check for a child lock or control lock indicator — Third, and free. It is one of the commonest reasons a healthy machine refuses to start.
- Test the receptacle with something known good — Fourth, if the panel is dark, and check the breaker while you are there.

Unplug the machine before removing any panel, and close both taps before disturbing a hose. Never defeat a door interlock to make the machine run - it is what stops the door opening on a drum full of water. A washer is heavy; get help rather than levering it out on a corner.
