When the BDV line refuses to begin, separate the states first: a dark panel is a supply question, a lit panel that will not run is a precondition question, and a cycle that starts and stops immediately is a different fault again. The middle case is the common one on this platform.
What owners actually see
- The panel is completely dark — Across the whole of this line, no indicators and no response to any button, which places the fault at the supply rather than inside the machine.
- The panel lights but nothing happens on start — The control has power and has accepted the selection, so the machine is waiting on a precondition it has not been given.
- The laundry circuit also feeds other appliances — A shared circuit trips for reasons that have nothing to do with the dryer, and takes the dryer down with it. This applies to the whole line rather than to one model.

- A full condensate tank — First on the BDV line because the machine refuses a cycle outright when the float reads full, and because a tank emptied but not pushed fully home leaves the float reading full anyway. Every model in this family behaves this way.
- The door not latching — Second because a garment caught in the seal or a slightly dropped door stops the catch engaging, while the panel stays lit because the display is upstream of the latch circuit. The models in the table behave the same way here.
- A delay start left set — These models keep a delay through a door open and close, so a machine set the night before appears dead while it is counting down.

The diagnostic order
- Empty the condensate tank and push it fully home — First on the BDV line because a tank that is emptied but not seated leaves the float reading full, and the machine behaves identically to one that was never emptied. That holds across every model this page covers.
- Close the door firmly and listen for the catch — Second: a garment trapped in the seal is the usual obstruction and it is invisible once the door is pushed against it.
- Prove the socket with another appliance — Third, because it separates the machine from the circuit in seconds and shared laundry circuits trip for unrelated reasons. It is the same on all the models in the table on this page.
- Clear any child lock — Hold the marked button until the lock indicator clears, then try start again. The button is printed on the panel.
- Cancel any delay and reselect the programme — A delay survives the door being opened, so cancelling and reselecting is the only reliable way to exclude it.
- Power the machine down for a few minutes — A control latched into an error state clears on a full power cycle, which separates a transient fault from a failed component.
