The answer first
A Beko BWDB dryer that does nothing when start is pressed is usually reporting a condition rather than a failure. The panel will light, the programme will be accepted, and the cycle still will not begin, which is by design and not a fault.
What this looks like
- Only some buttons respond — Across the models this page covers, characteristic of a child lock rather than a failed panel, and it is cleared with a long press on the marked button.
- A delay indicator is lit — The programme has been accepted and deferred, so the machine is behaving correctly and will start later than expected.
- The tank was emptied and the indicator stayed lit — The float reads the tank in its seated position, so a tank pushed back only part way reports full however recently it was drained. That is true of every model this family spans.
- A garment is visible in the door seal — A trapped corner of fabric holds the door a few millimetres proud, which is enough for the catch to miss.
- The machine stopped mid-cycle earlier and has refused since — That pattern points at a thermal cut-out following a restriction rather than at a start fault.
- The laundry circuit also feeds other appliances — A shared circuit trips for reasons that have nothing to do with the dryer, and takes the dryer down with it.

Most likely causes first

Where to start, and why

When to stop and call
Stop and call if there is any burning smell, or if the machine stopped mid-cycle with a hot cabinet and will not restart. That pattern suggests a thermal cut-out following a restriction, and the restriction needs finding as well. Every model in this family behaves this way.
