Read this first
Water on the floor around the DDS line has three sources and the location of the puddle separates them: at the door front it is the gasket or the detergent path, under the centre it is the sump or a hose clip, at the back it is the fill or drain connection. The platform puts the fill valve behind a removable kick panel, so the two commonest checks need one panel off.
The observations that matter
- The gasket is shiny and hard at the bottom corners — On each of the models covered here, heat and grease harden the seal fastest where water sits, so the corners fail before the top edge does.
- The machine has been moved or re-levelled recently — A cabinet leaning forward drains its base tray onto the floor instead of back toward the sump.
- The leak stopped when a different detergent was used — Conclusive evidence for a foaming cause, and it costs one cycle to establish. It is the same on all the models in the table on this page.
- NEAR MISS: water stands inside the tub but the floor is dry — That is a drainage fault, covered on the drainage page for this family, and nothing on this page applies to it.
The causes in likelihood order
- A dirty, hardened or displaced door gasket — Ranked first on the DDS line because the gasket is a single moulded strip held in a channel: grease hardens it, a knock lifts a corner, and either one breaks the seal along the whole edge rather than at a point. The same is true of each model covered here.
- Over-foaming from the wrong detergent — For every model in this family, hand dish soap or too much rinse aid raises foam above the door line and it escapes at the weakest point. It reads as a hardware fault and is entirely consumable-related.
- A loose or perished hose clip at the sump — The sump connections sit under the tub where the base tray catches any escape and carries it forward, which is why a rear leak so often shows at the front foot.
- A cabinet that is no longer level — A machine tipped forward sends base-tray water to the floor rather than back to the sump, which turns a trivial internal escape into a visible leak.
- A failed door hinge or latch geometry — Last because it is uncommon and because it needs measurement rather than inspection: a door that closes and locks can still be sitting a fraction proud along one edge, and confirming that is service work on this platform.
The order to work in
- Establish where the water lands before anything else — Dry the floor, lay paper at the front foot, at each side and behind, and run a short programme. This single step splits the fault tree in three. Every model in this family behaves this way.
- Run a finger along the whole gasket — Second, because it is free and because on the DDS line a hardened or lifted section is felt long before it is seen. Clean it with hot water and check it seats in its channel all round.
- Review the detergent and the rinse-aid setting — Third, because over-foaming produces a convincing door leak with nothing wrong. Run one cycle with the correct product and a normal dose before suspecting hardware. That holds across every model this page covers.

Safety
Isolate the machine at the breaker before any panel comes off, and turn the water supply off at the tap before touching the fill connection. Mop the floor first: standing water under an appliance makes a slip more likely than the leak itself.

The service boundary
The line on these models is the kick panel: the gasket, the loading and the fill connection are all owner-checkable, and anything requiring the machine to come out belongs to service. Call immediately if water has reached a socket or the breaker has tripped. That is true of every model this family spans.
