Read this first
Water left in the sump on the DDS line means the drain path is restricted somewhere along a short route: filter stack, pump impeller, hose loop, house standpipe. The platform drains through a single motorised pump with no separate drain valve, so there is nothing electrical to fault between the pump and the outlet. Start at the filter and work outward.
The observations that matter
- Fine debris is visible on the filter plate — On each of the models covered here, what you can see on top of the plate is a fraction of what is packed into the mesh beneath it.
- The drain phase sounds the same from start to finish — A pump moving water changes note as the sump clears; an unchanging tone through the whole phase is a restriction.
- A previous load included something that broke — A glass or a china item that shattered puts fragments straight into the filter stack and the pump inlet. It is the same on all the models in the table on this page.
- NEAR MISS: the tub is dry but the load is wet and dirty — That is a wash or fill fault, not a drain fault, and it belongs on the cleaning-performance page for this family.
The causes in likelihood order
- Debris packed into the filter stack — Broken glass, labels and seeds collect in the fine mesh first and the coarse basket second. On the DDS line the whole stack sits directly over the pump inlet, so a partial block starves the pump of flow before it stops it outright. The same is true of each model covered here.
- A kinked or trapped drain hose — For every model in this family, the hose leaves these cabinets high and turns immediately, so pushing the machine back into a tight housing pinches it against the wall. It is the single most common cause that has nothing wrong with the appliance at all.
- An obstruction in the pump impeller — A fruit stone, a bottle cap or a shard that passed the mesh jams the impeller. The pump then hums without moving water, which is the sound owners describe as the pump running normally.
- A drain hose pushed too far into the waste spigot — An over-inserted hose restricts its own outlet, which produces a slow drain that looks exactly like a partial blockage inside the machine.
- A level sensor that never reports an empty sump — Last because it is rare and because it mimics everything above it: the pump may be emptying the tub perfectly while the control refuses to move on. Confirming it needs service tooling rather than observation.
The order to work in
- Bail out the standing water first — A cup and a sponge, because every later check floods the floor otherwise and because the depth tells you whether the sump emptied partially or not at all. Every model in this family behaves this way.
- Unscrew and clear the whole filter stack — Second, because it costs nothing and because on the DDS line it sits over the pump inlet, so it explains both a slow drain and a stopped one.
- Look into the pump inlet with a torch — Third, once the filter is out the inlet is visible from inside the tub, so the impeller is checked without moving the machine. That holds across every model this page covers.
Before you open anything
Safety
Switch the machine off at the breaker before anything is dismantled, and leave it off while you work behind it. Standing water in a Beko DDS tub often hides glass fragments from a broken item, so clear the sump by sight with gloves on rather than by feel.

The service boundary
The line on these models is the tool: everything up to and including the pump inlet is hand-reachable from inside the tub, and everything past it needs the machine out of its housing and tipped. Call when the fault is past the inlet, and call immediately if the cabinet has tripped the breaker. That is true of every model this family spans.
