The answer first
When a Beko BDI machine leaks, the first useful step is not repair but observation: run a short programme with a sheet of paper under each suspect area and see which one wets. These cabinets share a base tray that carries water forward, so water appearing at the front is frequently coming from behind.
What this looks like
- A puddle at the front foot after every cycle — Across the models this page covers, the base tray drains forward, so this is the default destination for water from several different sources and is not by itself a door fault.
- Water running down the outside of the door — Visible during the wash rather than after it, and usually traced to the gasket sitting proud of its channel at one corner.
- A white mineral trail runs from a hose joint — The signature of a slow weep over weeks, and it names the exact joint without any test. That is true of every model this family spans.
- NEAR MISS: the machine is silent and never fills — A no-start or fill fault, which the will-not-start page for this family covers.
Most likely causes first
- A dirty, hardened or displaced door gasket — Ranked first on the BDI line because the gasket is a single moulded strip held in a channel: grease hardens it, a knock lifts a corner, and either one breaks the seal along the whole edge rather than at a point. It is the same on all the models in the table on this page.
- Over-foaming from the wrong detergent — For the models in the table on this page, hand dish soap or too much rinse aid raises foam above the door line and it escapes at the weakest point. It reads as a hardware fault and is entirely consumable-related.
- A rinse-aid reservoir overfilled or leaking — Excess rinse aid enters the wash and raises foam, which escapes at the door line and produces a convincing gasket leak with a perfect gasket.
- A cabinet that is no longer level — A machine tipped forward sends base-tray water to the floor rather than back to the sump, which turns a trivial internal escape into a visible leak.
- A split or corroded tub seam or sump housing — Last because it is rare and because it is the one cause that ends the machine rather than starting a repair. Everything above it must be excluded first, since each imitates it perfectly once the base tray has carried the water forward.
Where to start, and why
- Establish where the water lands before anything else — Dry the floor, lay paper at the front foot, at each side and behind, and run a short programme. This single step splits the fault tree in three. This applies to the whole line rather than to one model.
- Run a finger along the whole gasket — Second, because it is free and because on the BDI line a hardened or lifted section is felt long before it is seen. Clean it with hot water and check it seats in its channel all round.
- Review the detergent and the rinse-aid setting — Third, because over-foaming produces a convincing door leak with nothing wrong. Run one cycle with the correct product and a normal dose before suspecting hardware. The models in the table behave the same way here.
- Open the kick panel and look at the base tray — The tray shows where water arrives from even when it cannot show where it started. Dry it, run a cycle, and note which end wets first.
Read this before you start
Safety
Switch off at the breaker and close the supply tap before work begins; stored charge can remain after the power is cut. Do not run a cycle with the kick panel off to watch for the leak while the machine is powered.

When to stop and call
Book service when water appears while the machine is idle and the fill connection is dry, when the base tray refills after every cycle with a clean seated gasket, or when the door sits visibly proud along one edge. Every model in this family behaves this way.
